Surveyors are a crucial part of the Accreditation Process. They work as part of a Survey Team to undertake Surveys, applying the Accreditation Standards to make a recommendation as to whether a Facility and/or Unit is accredited to provide Intern Education and Training. The Survey Team usually consists of:
The size of the Survey Team is dependent on the number of units that require accreditation. However, as a minimum each Survey Team will always have at least one junior doctor. The Survey Team is usually broken down into sub teams over the course of a Survey Visit to ensure that all the Units are visited.
All Surveyors attend a one day training workshop which introduces the Accreditation Standards and the application of them from a surveying perspective. The workshop also provides participants with the knowledge and skills that Surveyors will require, such as triangulating evidence and report writing.
