A Full Survey looks at how the Facility manages Intern Education and Training. This includes looking at Facility wide aspects including the governance structure, the Intern Education and Training Committee, the physical infrastructure (such as access to a library) and the staff supporting Intern Education and Training, as well as aspects which are specific to Units, including term content, assessment, orientation and supervision.
A Full Survey Visit takes between one and five days depending on the size of the Facility and the number of Units to be accredited. However, the process for preparing for a Full Survey takes a number of months. Facilities should be aware of when their next Full Survey is due and contact PMCQ nine months prior to the Survey due date to arrange a date for the Full Survey Visit. Facilities should submit a Form 2 (Application for Accreditation) to PMCQ 12 weeks before the Full Survey Visit and the self assessment documentation – Form 3A (Facility) and Form 3B (Unit) – no later than six weeks before the Full Survey Visit.
A Full Survey is usually done every four years. However, sometimes a Facility will only be granted accreditation for one year. This may happen if, during a previous Full Survey, the Survey Team found issues with some aspects of the Intern Education and Training Program. This is the exception rather than the rule.
