Accreditation Committee

The Accreditation Committee oversees the Accreditation Program in Queensland. This responsibility includes:

  • identifying and discussing issues related to junior doctor accreditation in Queensland
  • ratifying the recommendations and reports made by survey teams on the accreditation status of facilities
  • making recommendations to the Queensland Board of the Medical Board of Australia (QBMBA) on the accreditation status of facilities, and
  • providing advice to the QBMBA on institutional and educational requirements for effective intern training.

The NEW Accreditation Committee's Terms of Reference provides more information on the roles and responsibilities of the Accreditation Committee. The Committee meets approximately every six weeks.

The membership of the Committee is diverse and representative of different geographical areas, facility settings, stakeholder types and interests. This allows a broad range of perspectives to be considered when raising issues and making recommendations and decisions.
