Accreditation Review

The Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Queensland (PMCQ) undertook extensive review of the Intern Accreditation System introduced in 2008. This review encompassed the following components of the then current Accreditation System:

  • Accreditation Principals
  • Accreditation Standards
  • Accreditation Processes
  • Accreditation Documentation

This ensured that our standards were appropriately supportive of quality Intern education and training delivered by healthcare organisations.

The outcome of the 2009 Accreditation Review report included the observations and recommendations arising from your feedback and from the following sources:

  1. Facilities surveyed in 2008 and 2009
  2. Surveyors active in 2008 and 2009
  3. The PMCQ Accreditation Committee
  4. PMCQ Accreditation staff
  5. State and Federal Stakeholders

PMCQ provided a review component on the website containing all current accreditation policy, process and documents, and a link to the online evaluation tool.

You were requested to review the documentation, to ensure you understood the particular component you have elected to evaluate and then submitted comments via survey monkey, electronic online program, or through a word evaluation document.  Comments were submitted by Friday 15 January 2009.
